How Do GBP Reviews Affect Partnerships and Supplier Confidence? Episode #8

all right welcome back everybody for another deep dive M today we're going to be looking at something well something that I think is really really fascinating and kind of a new angle okay on Google business profile reviews now obviously no you know we talk a lot on the show about GBP sure and you know and reviews are a big part of that but um but we're looking at it today from the angle of how it affects Partnerships and supplier relationships oh interesting so it's kind of a it's a different angle yeah so you know we all know that GBP reviews can be really important for attracting customers but what about their role in attracting Partners or building supplier confidence that's what we're going to unpack today and I think there's some honestly there were some surprising things that I found oh really in researching this um so I'm really interested to dive in so maybe you could start by kind of unpacking sure like why why this even matters yeah especially for businesses that are trying to you know grow their Network okay so I think what's interesting here is that you can almost think of Google business profile reviews as like a trust Beacon or a signal for potential partners and suppliers you know when you think about a company collaborating with another company they're always kind of assessing risk right like is this company going to be reliable is this company going to deliver what are they really about right and reviews kind of give them that window into the business business it gives them a sense of okay are they reliable are they transparent are they really committed to Quality so it's really more yeah than just like the number of stars like are there certain aspects of the reviews that like you know a partner or a supplier might really zero in on absolutely they really want to know that you're going to deliver what you promise yeah and they look for certain signals in the review so you know do customers praise communication the timeliness the problem solving skills and you know those little details are what give them the confidence to want to work with you that makes a lot of sense it's almost like it's providing a track record exactly for businesses especially I would imagine for the business it's like brand new we're trying to break into a new market or something exactly yeah yeah you don't have a reputation yet these reviews can build that up and it's not just attracting new partners you know I was reading a study by the um I think it was the named Research Institute right and they were saying that a strong GBP profile can actually help you in negotiations with suppliers and that companies with really good reviews consistently High reviews were able to get like better contract terms with suppliers like they were getting lower prices interesting faster shipping times things like that it's like how would a business actually like use their reviews in a situation like that well let's say you're like a business owner and you're trying to negotiate like a bulk order with a new supplier you could say hey look at all these great reviews look how many people say that I'm I'm committed to deadlines and you know ethical sourcing practices you know that will give them more confidence in you yeah and maybe help you get a better price or better payment terms it's almost like the reviews are speaking for you before you even get in the room they are vouching for you and you know it's not just about those individual interactions I think it creates this whole ripple effect where positive reviews attract customers which can lead to more Partnerships which can lead to better relationships with suppliers it's like this upward spiral that's interesting so it sounds like what we're saying here is that Google business profile reviews M are a lot more than for sure you know just a vanity metric like they're really a strategic asset when you're thinking about growth absolutely you know they affect everything you know obviously from customer acquisition but then also like you said building this network of Partners and suppliers that's so important and one thing to think about when you're responding to your reviews you know think about the things that a potential partner or a supplier would want to see you know are you known for going the extra mile right do you have great problem solving skills make sure you highlight those things in your responses that's a great point so for everyone listening out there you know how can you leverage reviews to kind of solidify those business relationships that's something I think everyone should be thinking about mhm um and on that note I think that's about it it for our Deep dive today so thanks for joining us and we will see you next time by
