Using RIGHT Keywords To Boost Your Business Online

all right everybody welcome back for another deep dive today we're talking all about keywords in online reviews yeah The Power of Words man it's kind of crazy what a difference just one or two words can make exactly so like we always do we got a bunch of Articles and research reports and stuff about how powerful justff everywhere now right yeah I mean reviews are everywhere now for like every single business and product and and for us as consumers too oh for sure I mean how often do you think you look at reviews before you buy something oh man all the time probably yeah me too more than I should probably but anyway we want to go deeper than just like the star rating today we're talking about the actual words people use in these reviews and how businesses can use them yeah so like how do these words play into SEO yeah so that's search engine optimization for anyone who doesn't know but basically Google and all those search engines they use these keywords to figure out like what a business is all about right so like when I search for the best pizza place in Chicago Google's going to look at all these pizza places and see what words keep popping up in their reviews right yep and the places that have reviews mentioning deep dish or Chicago style they're going to rank higher cuz that's probably what you're looking for right makes sense so it's not just about having a ton of reviews it's about having reviews with the right words the right words okay so businesses obviously want to encourage people to use these magic keywords right but the sources we've got here they talk a lot about doing it ethically like what's the line there yeah well think about it if you saw a bunch of reviews that all use the exact same phrases be kind of suspicious right yeah like almost robotic exactly like is this real or is this some marketing Ploy right it would make me trust those reviews less for sure totally and all the research shows that people are getting more Savvy about this stuff really oh yeah they can sniff out fake reviews a mile away wow so what are business is supposed to do well it's about finding that balance right like you want to encourage enourage people to leave good reviews and to use helpful words but you can't force it right right so how do you walk that line well one of the sources talks about educating customers educating yeah like actually explaining to them what makes a good review like telling them to use certain words not quite it's more about giving them guidelines you know like encouraging them to be specific okay to mention what they liked or didn't like to give details so like instead of just saying great food exactly you could say the pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was so flavorful ah nice or you could even provide some prompts like what were your first impressions when you walked in oh that's good was there anything that exceeded your expectations yeah I like that cuz it gives people a starting point but it still lets them be authentic exactly you're not telling them what to say you're just kind of nudging them in the right direction so what about reviews that are already out there oh yeah you can definitely work with those too one of the sources talks about monitoring reviews monitoring like spying on your customers uhhuh not exactly it's more like listening closely you know see what words people are already using to describe your business oh I see so you're looking for those positive reviews that naturally use the keywords you're after okay and then what do you do well you can highlight those reviews you know feature them on your website or social media so like look what these happy customers are saying exactly and when you respond to reviews which you should always do by the way absolutely even the negative ones right but when you do respond try to use some of those relevant keywords in your response oh sneaky ha not sneaky just smart okay but what about employees oh yes can businesses like train their employees to encourage good reviews that's a tricky one yeah cuz like I'd feel weird telling my customers to leave a review it's all about finding the right balance okay first and foremost employees need to be empowered to provide amazing service right cuz like if the exper is great the reviews will come naturally exactly and then it's okay to give them some subtle prompts to offer customers like what like if you enjoyed your experience we'd love for you to share it online okay so it's not pushy nope just a gentle reminder makes sense so we've talked about encouraging good reviews but what about the dark side you mean fake reviews yeah what happens if businesses get caught doing that oh man that's a disaster waiting to happen brly oh yeah consumers are smart they talk to each other other MH and once they get a whiff that a business is buying fade reviews their trust is gone and trust is everything it's everything and it's hard to earn back so besides like losing customers what else could happen well the platforms themselves like Google and Yelp right they have strict rules about fake reviews if you get caught they can remove your reviews lower your rankings wow or even ban you completely yikes so yeah not worth the risk no definitely not okay so let's wrap things up here okay what's the one big thing our listeners should take away from all this I'd say it's that keywords are powerful but they should never come at the expense of authenticity right focus on building a great product or service creating genuinely positive
