okay so get this we're doing a deep dive today on Google business profile reviews oh wow those little star ratings you see everywhere online yeah we're going to figure out why they matter so much no cool we're using this text called why are GBP reviews important for businesses okay this going be pretty interesting I think yeah you know we see the stars everywhere right but I don't think people realize how much they actually like impact things yeah impact our choices yeah for sure as consumers but then also and businesses too huge for businesses like honest have you ever like been like oo I don't know about that restaurant it's only got like three stars oh all the time or like no reviews at all especially no reviews that's like sketchy that's gone yeah what are you hiding exactly that's what they call social proof right it is it's like this weird thing where we as humans just like automatically trust what other people say like if a bunch of people are saying this place is is good then it must be good yeah like it's proof it's proof that it's good yeah it's like a virtual stamp of approval I like that a virtual stamp of approval right from other people who've actually been there and it can really make a difference for businesses oh for sure like this text talks about how reviews are like super important for seo seo yeah you know search engine optimization all right like I know that sounds kind of techy it does but basically it means making sure that your business pops up yes when people search for stuff online exactly like if you're looking for I don't know a coffee shop coffee shop near you yeah Google is going to use a bunch of different things to decide which coffee shops to show you at the top of the list right and like reviews were a big part of that yeah so like it's not just about bragging rights no it's actually about like visibility yeah like can people even find you right can customers actually find your business among all the other ones out there and there's another thing that I thought was really interesting that the text talked about which is engaging with your reviews oh yeah that's so important like responding to them it's huge whether they're good or bad especially the bad ones yeah I think a lot of businesses shy away from that but it's like such a good opportunity it shows that you care yes EXA you're actually listening to what people are saying you're listening you're engaged yeah and like a simple thank you yes for a good review goes a long way it goes so far like it makes people feel appreciated and they're more likely to come back if they feel like you actually care yeah and then with the negative reviews oh it's like your chance to make things right yes fix it yeah like address the problem and even potentially turn that unhappy customer into a happy one it's like magic it is turning that frown upside down totally I remember one time I left like a not so great review for this Bakery oh no what happened oh they were out of my favorite pastry oh the worse I know and like the owner actually responded to my review really yeah apologized and offered me a free pastry on my next visit wow I was like okay you got me that's amazing I'm coming back that's a great example it showed everybody that they actually care about their customers exactly and they're willing to like make things right totally it was really cool and you know what else is really cool right all those reviews that businesses are getting yeah they're like a gold mine of information they really are it's free market research it is like you can see what people are what they're raving about exactly and what they're complaining about and then use all of that to make your business better like improve your products yes your service whole customer experience everything you can tailor everything to what your customers actually want it's like you're getting direct feedback from the people who matter most exactly and that can make all the difference especially when there's like a ton of competition out there oh yeah in a crowded Market yeah you got to stand out you got to stand out and like good reviews can help with that they give you that edge yeah like if you're choosing between two businesses side by side and one has like a ton of glowing reviews and the other one has like two or none yeah which one you going to pick exactly it's like a no-brainer reviews can be the deciding factor they really can it's amazing it's crazy how much power those little stars actually have I know right it's not just about like leaving feedback no it's so much bigger than that it's about building trust helping people find business and giving businesses this valuable information it's like a whole ecosystem it is of trust and feedback and Improvement it's pretty cool it makes you think about like the power we have as consumers every time we leave a review they're not just sharing our experience we're contributing to this whole online story about a yeah and that story can really influence other people's decisions for sure so like next time you have an amazing experience are a terrible or even just like an okay one yeah any
